Individualized Yoga Therapy is a one-on-one session tailored to meet your individual needs. This session includes poses, breathwork and meditations to address your challenges and help you become more grounded and at ease in your daily life. Yoga therapy empowers the student by providing tailored tools/instruction to heal and transform themselves. View a sample Individualized Yoga Therapy analysis.

Silent Retreat / Day of Mindfulness: Enjoy a day of silence which includes 2 Gentle Yoga classes, 2 contempletive meditations, 1 breathwork meditation, a silent meal & free time in silence to walk, journal, rest and just 'be' in the presence of others. A wonderful way to reconnect with yourself, let go of worries, and recharge your body, mind, Spirit. Feel free to bring a Yoga mat, and blanket (we also have these in the studio), and journal. Includes an organic lunch.

Yoga I - II: This all-levels Yoga class provides poses to strengthen the body, increase flexibility and improve posture. We delve into pranayama (breathwork) and always include relaxation and meditation at the end of each class.

Gentle YogaGentle Yoga: This mindful approach to Yoga reconnects you with your peaceful center, elevates your mood and improves memory. Gentle floor poses increase circulation, strengthen the core and increase range of motion. Standing poses improve balance and posture. Breathwork and meditation boost memory and calm emotions. Bring a sense of curiosity and openness to your mat.

Yoga for the Back, Neck, Shoulders, Core:  This series will balance the strength and flexibility of the core stabilizing muscles that support the spine, improve postural alignment of the spinal column, and release chronic muscle contractions in the muscles that support the spine to ease back pain. We will also stretch key muscles in the neck to release and strengthen other neck muscles to support a healthy cervical spine alignment. For the shoulders, we'll stretch muscles along the front of the shoulders which create 'rounded shoulders'  and strengthen key supporting shoulder muscles to lessen shoulder rotator cuff injuries.

Yoga for the Low Back, Hips, Legs, Core: Many of us spend a majority of our day seated and as a result have pain in our low back, tightness in our hips and legs. This means our bodies are out of balance and need strengthening and stretching of specific muscles to return a greater sense of ease and mobility in our bodies.

restorative yogaRestorative Yoga: A relaxing, meditative Yoga class which uses props to allow a gentle opening in the body. Yoga poses are experienced while laying or sitting on the floor. Restorative Yoga is the yoga of deep, aware relaxation. It is a Yoga of ‘Being’, rather than ‘Doing’, allowing the muscles to utterly relax and melt into place. As your body finds the shape of the posture and melts into place, your nervous system switches to a deep inner healing mode. Feeling like you've had a full-body massage, this class is a must-have for stressed out modern day living.

meditation & breathwork Meditation & Pranayama (Breathwork): Meditation's many positive benefits include everything from lowering blood pressure to better regulating emotions and improving memory. With all this good news, it's a wonder why more people aren't using this simple and easy tool to cultivate a more wholesome life. Often, what we need is group encouragement and instruction from an experienced teacher to begin and/or continue our practice. This class provides an avenue for beginners and the seasoned practitioner alike who enjoy the support and structure of group meditation. We explore different forms of meditation to find a style that works best for you. Each class begins with poses to limber the body, relaxation, and breathwork to prepare the mind for meditation. The class always provides time for discussion and q&a. Attendance at all classes is recommended.

Yoga for Anxiety and Depression: Emotional health is fundamental to the maintenance of our overall wellbeing. Emotion is a complex interaction between our mood, thoughts, behavior and physiological responses. Yoga's unique system can be used to reduce troubling emotional states and cultivate positive ones. We'll offer the Yoga therapy perspective on methods for working with anxiety and depression.

Yoga for People with Cancer: Studies show that Yoga for people with Cancer enhances their physical and emotional well-being. In 2010, a national study of 410 cancer patients showed that Yoga improved sleep by 22%, reduced fatigue by 42%, and reduced the use of sleep medication by 21%. But perhaps the most compelling reason cancer patients are turning to yoga is: "It shows us how a person stricken with a serious illness, instead of "running away" from their threatened body, can connect more strongly to that body and begin to experience self-empowerment & well-being. As we engage our physical selves in the precise body gestures of yoga, our minds come along, growing accustomed to focusing on the affairs of this moment & leaving worries and future-thinking behind. As we breathe and meditate, our minds grow more clear and steady.” ~ Sandy Boucher, Yoga Journal

Yoga Core & Restore: This Gentle Yoga class offers poses to strengthen the torso and deep restorative stretches using props to allow a gentle opening in the body.

Chair Yoga: uses a chair for seated poses and as support for standing poses. We also use the wall as support for many of the standing poses, to aid in improving posture while strengthening balance. Chair Yoga poses are designed to increase balance, strength, flexibility and circulation and improve posture. Breathwork and meditation is incorporated to energize the system, improve memory, and decrease insomnia by calming the nervous system. No matter your ability, this class is designed to have a positive affect on ALL bodies.

Yoga in the Park: This free Yoga class is held May - Sep., 9 - 10 am, at Fred Fletcher Park. Please bring a blanket or Yoga mat. Open to all levels. Different teachers from different traditions teach each week. To see who's teaching and when, please look to the calendar below.
